Execution of two passive single-family homes plus common areas and plot urbanization in the residential area of the back of "La Ciudadela" of Jaca.
Set of houses that share common elements of road and pedestrian access through a longitudinal corridor to the individual access doors, are developed in isolation in raised plants with opening of opening swings towards all orientations, being the basement divided by a median wall and excavating a patio in the garden area that allows to make the lower cellar exterior and communicate the levels from the garden itself, having an independent pool for each house.
The houses meet the requirements of energy saving, thermal insulation and air tightness required by the standard "PASSIVHAUS" or passive housing, which develops a global concept of construction of very low energy, ahead of the objective set by the Energy Efficiency of Buildings Directive (2010/31/EC) for the implementation in 2020 of almost zero energy consumption buildings, called nZEB (Nearly Zero Energy).
Compared to conventional housing, these passive houses have the following advantages:
Studying in the project phase the next environment and the starting climate conditions, taking advantage of the available resources to reduce environmental impacts and reducing energy consumption.
Limiting unwanted air infiltrations from the outside, making an air barrier by a continuous layer of plaster inside, placing special waterproofing tapes at the points of the enclosure where its continuity is interrupted as are the openings of windows and sealing the passage of installations from the outside.
Suppression of thermal bridges
To prevent unwanted temperature losses or gains, running a ventilated facade with a continuous thermal insulation of 50mm thick Rock Wool that extends together with the roof insulation. This facade has two types of finish, Travertine marble at the bottom and Zinc anthracite in the area of extension of the roof to the stormwater collection channel.
High level of isolation
Generating a homogeneous and high quality enclosure in both winter and summer. Placing on facades a thermal insulation type PIR AK of 140mm and on slanted roofs rigid plates type PIR CM 140mm coated both on both sides with a complex multilayer of kraft paper and metallic sheet, with a coefficient of thermal conductivity of 0.020 W/mK. On flat terraces the insulation shall consist of a double layer of rigid plates of high-density extruded polystyrene foam Roofmate 300 SL-A of a total thickness of 20cm, with a coefficient of thermal conductivity of 0.037 W/mK.
Use of high-performance windows and doors
Placing EXTERIOR carpentry of PVC brand WERU series AFINO TEC-MD certified by the Passivhaus Institute, with triple sheet of low-emissivity glass of U 0.4 W/m2k, chamber with argon gas and blind with motorized insulated drawer.
Installation of Controlled Mechanical Ventilation (VMC) system with heat recovery
Reusing the heat generated by people and appliances to preheat the incoming clean air before expelling the stale air, being able to control through different filters of pollen the air that is driven inside the house avoiding allergy symptoms.
Need for heat/cold limited to:
- Annual heating demand – 14.8 kWh/m2 year
- Heating load – 14.0 W/m2
- Annual cooling demand – 9.3 kWh/m2 year
- Cooling load – 9 W/m2
Total demand for primary energy (lighting, equipment and appliances) – 84.0 kWh/m2 year.
Underfloor heating – refreshing
Throughout the house for greater thermal comfort, with individual thermostats per stay. Energy supply by air-water heat pump, Aerothermal, BRAND NIBE F2040 with minimum COP of 4.05 and EER of 4.5. Sanitary hot water will be produced against a 200l double layer tank.
BLOWER DOOR PONDITY TEST
A key aspect of these houses is the waterproofness of the air envelope, measured with a test that evaluates the level of permeability that consists in creating a pressure difference between the inside and the outside by means of a fan placed on the door Main.
To meet the passive standard the result must be less than 0.6 air renewals per hour in a pressure differential of 50 Pa.
